Asset Management

How to create and manage assets

  1. Navigate to the Assets page from the sidebar
  2. Click the "Add New Asset" button
  3. Fill in the required fields:
    • QTAG Number (unique identifier)
    • Asset Name
    • Category Type (Electrical, Fire, Ladder, etc.)
    • Frequency (Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly)
  4. Add optional information like manufacturer, model, serial number
  5. Upload photos or documents if needed
  6. Click "Save Asset"

Editing existing assets

  1. Find the asset in the assets table
  2. Click the edit button (pencil icon)
  3. Make your changes
  4. Click "Update Asset"

Setting up inspection schedules

QTAG automatically schedules inspections based on the frequency you set for each asset:

  • Monthly: Inspections due every month
  • Quarterly: Inspections due every 3 months
  • Yearly: Inspections due annually

To change the frequency of an asset:

  1. Edit the asset
  2. Select a new frequency from the dropdown
  3. Save the changes

Understanding register types

QTAG supports different register types for various inspection categories:

  • Electrical Register: For electrical equipment and insulation testers
  • Fire Register: For fire extinguishers, fire blankets, and fire safety equipment
  • Ladder Register: For step ladders, extension ladders, and platform ladders
  • Lifting & Rigging Register: For chain hoists, ropes, slings, and shackles

Each register has specific fields and requirements tailored to that equipment type.

Exporting and importing data

Exporting Data

  1. Go to the Reports page
  2. Select the data you want to export
  3. Choose your format (Excel or PDF)
  4. Click "Export"

Importing Data

  1. Download the Excel template from the Reports page
  2. Fill in your data using the template
  3. Upload the completed file
  4. Review and confirm the import

Troubleshooting login issues

Common login problems and solutions:

  • Forgotten password: Use the "Forgot Password" link on the login page
  • Account locked: Contact support to unlock your account
  • Wrong email: Ensure you're using the correct email address
  • Browser issues: Try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser

User account management

For Administrators:

  1. Go to User List from the sidebar
  2. Click "Add New User" to create accounts
  3. Edit existing users by clicking the edit button
  4. Set user roles and permissions
  5. Deactivate users when needed

For Regular Users:

  • Update your profile information
  • Change your password regularly
  • Contact your administrator for role changes
